At its heart, Ascent was born from a desire to unite faith and fitness, to inspire believers to pursue excellence both physically and spiritually. It all began with Nick Toma, a Michigan native who found strength not just in lifting weights but in lifting his spirit closer to God. Growing up immersed in both the gym and the church, Nick noticed something extraordinary—his gym community shared not only a passion for fitness but also a deep and abiding faith.
For nearly a decade, Nick carried a vision in his heart—a dream of creating clothing that celebrated the strength found in struggle and the journey of ascending toward God’s calling. But he also knew that timing matters. Trusting in God’s plan, he waited, humbly seeking the right moment to step out in faith. When the time came, Nick was ready—not to build just another clothing brand, but to build a community rooted in faith, strength, and perseverance.
